Dupuytrensche Kontraktur

This illness – named after the Parisian anatomist Dupuytren – causes a more or less heavily pronounced functional impairment of flexion and extension of all fingers and the thumb. These disorders may be surgically eliminated by removing the hardenings and thus uncovering the flexor tendon. Oftentimes an intensive follow up with occupational therapy such as finger gymnastics as well as scar treatment is needed.
